EMSAfrica runs stakeholder workshop with the Bushbuckridge Local Municipality at the Wits Rural Facility

We completed a workshop with the Bushbuckridge Local Municipality stakeholders, at the Wits Rural Facility in Acornhoek, on the 6th of March 2020.

This workshop was hosted by Professor Wayne Twine of the Wits University, and led by Professor Thomas Clemen of the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. Eight interested stakeholders, representing different departments of the Bushbuckridge municipality, and representatives of the different work packages of EMSAfrica, joined this meeting.

Through intensive plenary discussions and breakout group sessions, we found several overlaps and areas in which the data, products and knowledge generated by the project could provide value for the municipality. There are overlaps in our work especially what comes to spatial land-use planning, climate adaptation plans and climate education.

We are very much looking forward to next steps in the collaboration - the workshop was both, fun and a great learning experience on both sides!
