EMSAfrica supports iLEAPS in training young researchers
The iLEAPS project, in collaboration with the SAEON, CSIR and WITS, organised a workshop on Opportunities in land-atmosphere research in Southern Africa during 15.-16.11. at the CSIR Knowledge Commons in Pretoria. The course was tailored to expose researchers, students, and technicians to the current activities in land-atmosphere research in South Africa.
Christian Brümmer, who leads EMSAfrica work on Eddy Covariance flux measurements, introduced the participants to the method and led hands-on sessions on setting up and maintaining an EC system, as well as the steps of data processing. The positive feedback received from course participants indicated a strong demand in further similar training – as EMSAfrica kicks off, we are developing training initiatives together with our partners.
If you are interested in participating in similar training, in particular in eddy covariance methods, please feel free to introduce yourself and your particular needs by contacting EMSAfrica coordinator Mari directly by email (mari.bieri@thuenen.de). You will be added onto our mailing list, and informed about our and our partners activities. Watch this space for further opportunities!
