EMSAfrica kicks off in Polokwane, South Africa
The EMSAfrica consortium met for a kick-off meeting in Polokwane, South Africa during 1.-2.12.2018. With altogether 12 Southern African collaborators and 10 German partners joining in, we enjoyed two action-packed days discussing our research plans for the next three years.
The first day was mainly focussed on decision support on environmental management. This part of EMSAfrica work will involve integrating data and models from the various work packages, and working with local stakeholders. The second day was fully reserved for sharing and discussing our research plans. We also had discussions regarding emerging synergies and collaborations across working packages and different disciplines.
Despite some stormy weather, the meeting was concluded in very high spirits on Sunday night. We thank all partners and collaborators and look forward to the exciting next three years of research partnership.
